Hor-'AhaPosted ImageThe First King Of the first dynasty is probably Menes Because the name Men was among his royal titles according to Manetho ,Aha Reigned for 62 years.The center of power was in upper Egypt and then the centtral government shifted from south to the north in lower Egypt.Hor Aha <The fighting Hawk> founded <Inb hd>=<the white Wall>=<Memphis> as his capital.From the 6th dynasty it was called Memphis it is situated 23 km south of Cairo,He built a dike so that a flat plain could be formed .His wooden label from abydos commemorates the campaign that he conducted against Nubians (First Cataract) Another label records his foundation to a temple to the goddess Neith at Sais in DeltaHis Mother was probably Neithotep.Two legends grew in later eras about 'Aha :The first was that he was killed by Hippotamus The second was he was attacked by wild doges and was saved by a crocodile in Faiyum and that he founded the city of CocodopoloisTwo Tombs were excavated For Him At Abydos No.B 19 and saqqara where he was burried No.3357

The Second King of the first dynasty was Djer the son of Aha from a secondary wife named Hent or Khentap he ruled about 50 years and built a palace at Memphis

He Probably Fought a military Campaign in Sinai

His name is inscribed in wadi Halfa below the 2nd cataract

His mortuary complex at abydos was supposdely named the true grave of god osiris

DjetPosted Image Djet the third king of the first dynasty was included in Manetho's King list his limestone stela in the louvre is inscribed with a serekh It was discovered at Abydos,Where he built his mortuary complex An Inscription bearing his name was engraved on the rock in the Eastern Desert South of Edfu,Where he led a mining expedition to the red sea His wife was probably Queen mereneith. He had a tomb at saqqara (no.3504) but was burried in tomb Z at Abydos

Den the fourth king of the first dynasty was probably the son of Djet .

He Ruled for about 50 years .He is the first King to add the nsw bity to his titles .
He was considered eneretic and a patron of arts
Certain mortuary spells were found during his reign
he was medically trained as recorded in eberes papyrus and berlin medical one

In the first year of his reign he underwent an Asiatic campaign on his Ivory label from Abydos he smites an easterner with his mace

Den was active military in Sinai For the reconciliation with the north

Den Created the post of chancelleor of the king of lower Egypt as Hemaka

The Name of Den is associated with queen Merenith who possibly served as regent during his infancy.

He Was burried at saqqara and built another mortuary complex at Abydos

'Adjib the fifth king of the first Dynasty may have ruled for about 14 years

The nome clans offered resistance to unity including an era of chaos

He introduced the nbty name "two lords" to be under the protectioin of Horus of lower Egypt and Seth of Upper Egypt

His Queen Tarset or Betrest was the Memphite Heiress who may have added legitimacy to his claim as a unifier of Egypt. She Was the mother of his successor semerkhet

Semerkhet the sixth king of the first dynasty was the sone of 'Adjib and Queen Betrest
He is supposed to have ruled for 9 years according to palermo stone

He Erased 'Adjib's Name from his stone Jubliee Vases
His horus name was recorded on a quartz stela from his tomb at Abydos

Qa'a

Qa'a the last king of the first dynasty reigned for 26 years . Little is Known of his reign,But he is mentioned in Abydos,Saqqara and Turin King-Lists

Under the pyramid of Zoser were discovered stone vessels bearing his insigna .He was probably buried in tomb Q At Abydos on the east side of which were found 2 funerary stelae bearing his name
