The Supreme Council of Antiquities in Egypt found Two Huge statues of the 18 Dynasty (New Kingdom) which is the most important sculptures of the family of the New Kingdom , during a drilling project to reduce groundwater table to save the temples and tombs of the west. This was announced by Culture Minister Farouk Hosni said: the statues were detected to Amenhotep III, father of King Akhenaten.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities DR/ Zahi Hawass, Said "The first sculpture is one of the largest statues of the god Thoth, god of wisdom, which was placed inside the temples. the length of the statue, Which made of red granite about 4 meters . The second one is the statue of the top half of a double statue of King Amenhotep III (1410-1373 BC). It is also of red granite. |

Will these be avilable for display in mid April 2010? they won't be available for display in mid April 2010 , they will need enough time to finish studies and be cleaned and prepared for public, it may take a whille, but anyway Egyptian museum in Cairo and Luxor museum have best collections of statues belong to this Era. www.egyptealacarte.com |
