Hello everyone I am just a mother who is surfing the net trying to help my daughter and her partner with their power point research project. They chose to do Queen Hatshepsut with a little persuasion from me of course because she was so interesting with what little we had read about her. We have been trying to find a picture of what her sarcophogus looked like as the girls have to make one and have no clue as to what it should look like. Does anyone know where we might find something similiar? Also what kind of music did they play or listen to back then? Does anyone know? The girls wanted to download a clip to play as background music while they are giving their presentation. Another group is already using "Walk like an Egyptian" besides I think that song is boring because everybody knows it. I would love to come up with something original so "we could knock their sock off!" Yes, I want to ace this project big time so the more original information and unique ideas we come up with the better.

Thank you for helping. Mom in need. Chelly

KV -20 , Tomb of Tuthmosis I and Hatshepsut
A mostly undecorated tomb built by the pharaoh Hatshepsut in the Valley of the Kings at point directly behind her temple at Deir el Bahri. It is thought that the extreme length of the tomb was to enable her body would then lie underneath her temple - however the curve in the tomb shows how the tomb builders came across unsuitable rock and so the tomb had to turn away from its intended route.

When the sarcophagus chamber was cleared by Howard Carter in 1920, he found two sarcophagi - one belonging to Hatshepsut and one which belonged to her father Tuthmosis I, both empty.

Hatshepsut was buried in a quartzite sarcophagus, this was in fact her second sarcophagus - on proclaiming herself king Hatshepsut decided not to use her original sarcophagus which was made for her while she was still queen. Her original sarcophagus was re-carved for the burial of her father Tuthmosis I:

Hello Chelly,

Please read this story about Queen Hatshepsut to desgin your daughter power point presentation. but we didn't find yet her sarcophogus where she is burried and her mummy so why Dr. Zahi said that may be one of the 5 mummies just discoverd in vally of kings may belongs to her.
