This is one site i haven't been to and I wondered if anyone could give me a report about it. Especially how easy it is to get to. I am not very fit and heard rumours it was physically challenging to get to it. I recently did all 10 tombs at Qurna and that was really interesting so I ought to do the Assaif ones and then I have visisted every Noble tomb that is ticketed but I am being a wimp.

Did you mean Assassif tombs (or maybe Asasif in english) ?

If so, then there's no specific difficulty to visit them. They are under the current level of the ground. You just have to go down.
They are near Deir el Bahari, on the left when you arrive.

Some pictures taken there. Sorry, text is in french. Nobody's perfect...

Hi Jane,

I went to Pabasa`s tomb near to Hatshepsut`s Temple at Deir el Bahri, which is one of the Al-Asassif tombs, in September. I have a back problem and walking can be difficult for me, although in Egypt the climate helps so much it`s not such a problem, but I didn`t have too much trouble. There are quite a few steps at the entrance but the actual tomb is pretty level.

I`ve got photos from the visit there on the internet at:

Pabasa Tomb Al Assasif

if you want to take a look.

I also went to see some tombs at Al-Khokha which were really good too. The photos from there are at:

El-Khokha

I hope you enjoy them.

Best wishes, Di

Thanks that is really helpful , somehow I got the impression they were half way up the mountain and quite inaccessible.

I know the khoha tombs well but my favourite noble is Roy at Dra bu Naga
