All the pyramids are now closed to the public. I was advised that this could be due to the elections recently. Why I do not know!

Really? Did you read or hear about this somewhere, or did you try to go there - and if so, when? I'm puzzled by your post since I was at the Giza pyramids today with clients and everything was open for business as usual! We'll be visiting Sakkara, Memphis and Dahshur tomorrow, so I'll report back if anything is amiss there...

Update: I just got back from touring Sakkara, Memphis and Dahshur. All were open for business as normal.
